Book trailers are some of my favorite things ever. I swear, some day I’m going scour YouTube for some of the best and write an post or something linking them all. But for now, check out the spectacularly book trailer for the second installment in the Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children series. It debuted earlier last week on Entertainment Weekly‘s Shelf Life page and it captures the gothic tones of the series perfectly.

Not familiar with Ransom Riggs’ series? I suppose that’s my fault. I have owed you all a review for Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children for a while now. It’s a very unique book and it’s story is told not just in the pages but the often creepy and haunting vintage-style photographs that accompany it. There’s even a graphic novel version of the book – which I haven’t read – that was released a little more of a year ago.

Since we’re coming up on Christmas – and I have two very pressing finals coming up still – I won’t be able to get a review up before the holidays. But let me just say this: If you’re still looking for some holiday gift suggestions for inquisitive young readers then Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children is a great choice. It’s available on Kindle but believe me – this is one of those books you need to own in hard copy. The pictures make it totally worth it. It’s only $12 on Amazon right now and it’s more than worth it to spend the extra three bucks on hardcover over paperback.

Then keep an eye out for Hollow City (which thankfully has a much shorter title) in January and the next installment in 2015!
